A constant flow of hot water is provided by tankless water heaters, however the supply is restricted. For a single person having a shower or doing the dishes, standard versions heat many liters of water at once. However, a tankless heater cannot keep up if someone is running the dishwasher or washing machine while someone else is having a shower (or if two people are taking showers in two separate bathrooms at the same time). A conventional water heater, which can hold between 30 and 80 gallons depending on the type, will have no trouble simultaneously supplying hot water to several outlets.
